West Lynde (north-northwest 3) is a neighbourhood of Whitby, in the Greater Toronto Area. At the 2021 Census of Canada it had a population of 3,185 living in private households. 31.9% of residents identified as members of a racialized (visible minority) group, against 55.2% across the Greater Toronto Area as a whole; the largest single group was Black at 14.5%. 67.7% were Caucasian (not a visible minority, excluding Indigenous identity), and 0.5% reported Indigenous identity. Immigrants made up 27.8% of the population, compared with 45.1% citywide. Median household income before tax was $118,000 in 2020, compared with $199,000 for the Greater Toronto Area. 11.8% of households rented rather than owned. The neighbourhood covers 1.03 km², giving a population density of 3,085 people per square kilometre (the Greater Toronto Area averages about 920).
