Yonge & Eglinton (west-northwest) is a neighbourhood of Toronto, in the Greater Toronto Area. At the 2021 Census of Canada it had a population of 6,782 living in private households. 36.9% of residents identified as members of a racialized (visible minority) group, against 55.2% across the Greater Toronto Area as a whole; the largest single group was Chinese at 7.5%. 61.9% were Caucasian (not a visible minority, excluding Indigenous identity), and 1.2% reported Indigenous identity. Immigrants made up 33.8% of the population, compared with 45.1% citywide. Median household income before tax was $82,000 in 2020, compared with $199,000 for the Greater Toronto Area. 67.6% of households rented rather than owned. The neighbourhood covers 0.72 km², giving a population density of 9,447 people per square kilometre (the Greater Toronto Area averages about 920).
