Yonge & Eglinton (north-northeast) is a neighbourhood of Toronto, in the Greater Toronto Area. At the 2021 Census of Canada it had a population of 7,267 living in private households. 47.6% of residents identified as members of a racialized (visible minority) group, against 55.2% across the Greater Toronto Area as a whole; the largest single group was South Asian at 8.8%. 51.4% were Caucasian (not a visible minority, excluding Indigenous identity), and 0.9% reported Indigenous identity. Immigrants made up 43.6% of the population, compared with 45.1% citywide. Median household income before tax was $70,000 in 2020, compared with $199,000 for the Greater Toronto Area. 89.6% of households rented rather than owned.
