Yonge & Eglinton (south-southwest) is a neighbourhood of Toronto, in the Greater Toronto Area. At the 2021 Census of Canada it had a population of 5,642 living in private households. 22.2% of residents identified as members of a racialized (visible minority) group, against 55.2% across the Greater Toronto Area as a whole; the largest single group was Chinese at 6.9%. 77.3% were Caucasian (not a visible minority, excluding Indigenous identity), and 0.6% reported Indigenous identity. Immigrants made up 25.2% of the population, compared with 45.1% citywide. Median household income before tax was $110,000 in 2020, compared with $199,000 for the Greater Toronto Area. 56.2% of households rented rather than owned. The neighbourhood covers 0.93 km², giving a population density of 6,069 people per square kilometre (the Greater Toronto Area averages about 920).
