Pinecrest (west-southwest) is a neighbourhood of Oshawa, in the Greater Toronto Area. At the 2021 Census of Canada it had a population of 6,077 living in private households. 24.2% of residents identified as members of a racialized (visible minority) group, against 55.2% across the Greater Toronto Area as a whole; the largest single group was Black at 8.6%. 73.1% were Caucasian (not a visible minority, excluding Indigenous identity), and 2.7% reported Indigenous identity. Immigrants made up 20.9% of the population, compared with 45.1% citywide. Median household income before tax was $97,000 in 2020, compared with $199,000 for the Greater Toronto Area. 29.5% of households rented rather than owned. The neighbourhood covers 1.70 km², giving a population density of 3,574 people per square kilometre (the Greater Toronto Area averages about 920).
