O'Neill (south-southwest) is a neighbourhood of Oshawa, in the Greater Toronto Area. At the 2021 Census of Canada it had a population of 5,346 living in private households. 22.7% of residents identified as members of a racialized (visible minority) group, against 55.2% across the Greater Toronto Area as a whole; the largest single group was Black at 9.1%. 72.9% were Caucasian (not a visible minority, excluding Indigenous identity), and 4.3% reported Indigenous identity. Immigrants made up 18.3% of the population, compared with 45.1% citywide. Median household income before tax was $45,600 in 2020, compared with $199,000 for the Greater Toronto Area. 74.4% of households rented rather than owned. The neighbourhood covers 1.32 km², giving a population density of 4,057 people per square kilometre (the Greater Toronto Area averages about 920).
