New Tecumseth (south) is a neighbourhood of New Tecumseth, in the Greater Toronto Area. At the 2021 Census of Canada it had a population of 5,384 living in private households. 12.4% of residents identified as members of a racialized (visible minority) group, against 55.2% across the Greater Toronto Area as a whole; the largest single group was South Asian at 2.7%. 85.3% were Caucasian (not a visible minority, excluding Indigenous identity), and 2.3% reported Indigenous identity. Immigrants made up 14.8% of the population, compared with 45.1% citywide. Median household income before tax was $106,000 in 2020, compared with $199,000 for the Greater Toronto Area. 17.0% of households rented rather than owned. The neighbourhood covers 10.04 km², giving a population density of 536 people per square kilometre (the Greater Toronto Area averages about 920).
