Sunnylea is a neighbourhood of Toronto, in the Greater Toronto Area. At the 2021 Census of Canada it had a population of 6,306 living in private households. 50.6% of residents identified as members of a racialized (visible minority) group, against 55.2% across the Greater Toronto Area as a whole; the largest single group was Black at 10.5%. 47.2% were Caucasian (not a visible minority, excluding Indigenous identity), and 2.4% reported Indigenous identity. Immigrants made up 44.0% of the population, compared with 45.1% citywide. Median household income before tax was $50,000 in 2020, compared with $199,000 for the Greater Toronto Area. 92.7% of households rented rather than owned.
