Pickering Beach (southwest 1) is a neighbourhood of Ajax, in the Greater Toronto Area. At the 2021 Census of Canada it had a population of 6,306 living in private households. 36.2% of residents identified as members of a racialized (visible minority) group, against 55.2% across the Greater Toronto Area as a whole; the largest single group was Black at 11.8%. 61.3% were Caucasian (not a visible minority, excluding Indigenous identity), and 2.5% reported Indigenous identity. Immigrants made up 29.1% of the population, compared with 45.1% citywide. Median household income before tax was $92,000 in 2020, compared with $199,000 for the Greater Toronto Area. 36.6% of households rented rather than owned. The neighbourhood covers 2.54 km², giving a population density of 2,482 people per square kilometre (the Greater Toronto Area averages about 920).
