Corktown is a neighbourhood of Toronto, in the Greater Toronto Area. At the 2021 Census of Canada it had a population of 6,926 living in private households. 67.1% of residents identified as members of a racialized (visible minority) group, against 55.2% across the Greater Toronto Area as a whole; the largest single group was South Asian at 20.3%. 31.4% were Caucasian (not a visible minority, excluding Indigenous identity), and 1.5% reported Indigenous identity. Immigrants made up 41.6% of the population, compared with 45.1% citywide. Median household income before tax was $76,500 in 2020, compared with $199,000 for the Greater Toronto Area. 62.6% of households rented rather than owned. The neighbourhood covers 0.39 km², giving a population density of 17,851 people per square kilometre (the Greater Toronto Area averages about 920).
