Mount Pleasant (south-southeast) is a neighbourhood of Brampton, in the Greater Toronto Area. At the 2021 Census of Canada it had a population of 9,294 living in private households. 95.2% of residents identified as members of a racialized (visible minority) group, against 55.2% across the Greater Toronto Area as a whole; the largest single group was South Asian at 73.2%. 4.9% were Caucasian (not a visible minority, excluding Indigenous identity), and 0.0% reported Indigenous identity. Immigrants made up 59.8% of the population, compared with 45.1% citywide. Median household income before tax was $130,000 in 2020, compared with $199,000 for the Greater Toronto Area. 19.8% of households rented rather than owned.
