Maryvale (east) is a neighbourhood of Toronto, in the Greater Toronto Area. At the 2021 Census of Canada it had a population of 8,463 living in private households. 61.9% of residents identified as members of a racialized (visible minority) group, against 55.2% across the Greater Toronto Area as a whole; the largest single group was South Asian at 20.1%. 37.5% were Caucasian (not a visible minority, excluding Indigenous identity), and 0.6% reported Indigenous identity. Immigrants made up 50.6% of the population, compared with 45.1% citywide. Median household income before tax was $90,000 in 2020, compared with $199,000 for the Greater Toronto Area. 30.3% of households rented rather than owned. The neighbourhood covers 3.73 km², giving a population density of 2,268 people per square kilometre (the Greater Toronto Area averages about 920).
