Hillcrest is a neighbourhood of Toronto, in the Greater Toronto Area. At the 2021 Census of Canada it had a population of 4,445 living in private households. 26.8% of residents identified as members of a racialized (visible minority) group, against 55.2% across the Greater Toronto Area as a whole; the largest single group was Black at 6.2%. 72.6% were Caucasian (not a visible minority, excluding Indigenous identity), and 0.8% reported Indigenous identity. Immigrants made up 29.2% of the population, compared with 45.1% citywide. Median household income before tax was $93,000 in 2020, compared with $199,000 for the Greater Toronto Area. 45.4% of households rented rather than owned. The neighbourhood covers 0.68 km², giving a population density of 6,507 people per square kilometre (the Greater Toronto Area averages about 920).
