Danforth East (north-northeast) is a neighbourhood of Toronto, in the Greater Toronto Area. At the 2021 Census of Canada it had a population of 6,462 living in private households. 49.7% of residents identified as members of a racialized (visible minority) group, against 55.2% across the Greater Toronto Area as a whole; the largest single group was South Asian at 14.0%. 47.6% were Caucasian (not a visible minority, excluding Indigenous identity), and 2.7% reported Indigenous identity. Immigrants made up 43.8% of the population, compared with 45.1% citywide. Median household income before tax was $70,000 in 2020, compared with $199,000 for the Greater Toronto Area. 72.4% of households rented rather than owned. The neighbourhood covers 0.62 km², giving a population density of 10,504 people per square kilometre (the Greater Toronto Area averages about 920).
